The Monarch butterfly is in a 75% survival decline throughout Hawaii`i.
In the wild, the birds continue to wipe out most of the baby caterpillars, from one end of the Hawaiian chain to the other. Invasive lizards, ants and wasp predators seem to show up daily to feast on the eggs. And, if that isn't enough, the overuse of pesticides island-wide, has damaged the Monarch's immune system, making them unable to produce healthy keikis. to protect these sacred insects!
